Editorial
A relatively new feature of microstock is "editorial" pictures. I.e. pictures that has no model relase. This sounds fantastic right? Well...yes if you are a paparazzi. It means you can sell pictures of for example celebrities with no model release but you can only sell to newpapers etc. The pictures cannot be used commercially in ads.
Editorial is growing fast with pictures of sports, politics, events, celebrities and even commercial pictures.

Yes, but for editorial logos and brands are ok. The buyer can't use the pictures for advertising witch is quite limiting for your sales numbers.
Dreamstime is big on this and is the microstock site I recommend for editorial content.
Istock has currently a non editorial policy.
Shutterstock allows editorial content.
Fotolia has no editorial section.
Stockxpert: "We do not offer an editorial license for images, and there are no current plans to offer this down the road."
